Company Offers Units for RoHS Compliance Detection

New Portable and Desktop XRF Options Available in North America

Atlanta, GA (June 2, 2008) – A new option is available to organizations that take in-house control in testing for compliance to hazardous substance (RoHS) regulations. Skyray XRF offers desktop and portable x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers that provide fast, non-destructive analysis of product for lead content and other restricted metals. Skyray XRF is the North American representative of Skyray Instrument, Inc; an international leader in XRF technology which is a common method for in-house compliance testing of product.

The Pocket is the portable system available through Skyray XRF and is one of the lightest and most comfortable handheld XRF’s available. It is lightweight because it was developed with light but durable casing material and small but effective micro-components (featuring a 40kV x-ray tube). The Pocket provides efficient screening of product under the regulated parts-per-million (ppm) without limitation in sample size, shape or location. This portable unit comes standard with Bluetooth technology, a removable PDA and a rechargeable battery.

Skyray XRF offers multiple bench top XRF options that provide high-performance software and function; the top-performing model for RoHS applications being the EDX-2800. The desktop instruments make up for their lack of mobility by providing lower detection limits and greater elemental range for additional application needs. These models include color camera systems, signal-to-noise enhancers, multiple automatic collimators and filters for greater accuracy, resolution and repeatability.

We are happy to offer both portable and desktop options for organizations that want in-house control of regulation testing,” stated Scott Kramer, Director of Sales and Marketing for Skyray XRF. “It is important to a large number of organizations that they are able to quickly and accurately test for compliance without destroying the product and Skyray XRF offers some of the most cost efficient options available.”

Skyray XRF is the first North American representative of Skyray Instrument Inc, an international leader in x-ray fluorescence technology. For more information, call 1-716-204-2388 or visit www.skyrayxrf.com for company and instrument overviews.
